THE HAROLD & CAROLE PUMP FOUNDATION
Dedicated to raising funds for organizations in need, strengthening communities, and improving the lives of those we serve.
About The Foundation
The Harold and Carole Pump Foundation (HCPF) was established in honor of a beloved father who courageously battled cancer until his passing in 2000, and a loving mother who passed away in 2012. Inspired by their parents’ strength, compassion, and legacy, brothers Dana and David Pump have dedicated themselves to making a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer.
Through their extraordinary relationship-building abilities and strong partnerships within the community, Dana and David Pump, in collaboration with the Northridge Hospital Foundation, have helped raise more than $13.5 million to support the Carole Pump Women’s Center, the Harold & Carole Pump Department of Radiation Oncology, the Pump Family Infusion Center, and the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Cancer Center at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and numerous other nonprofit community organizations.
Carole Pump Women’s Center
At Dignity Health — Northridge Hospital Medical Center
The Carole Pump Women’s Center offers women the most advanced diagnostic services and treatments at every stage of life. Female physicians and specialists provide care in a private, comfortable setting, with an approach that treats the whole person, not just the condition.
Made possible through the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation, the Center provides comprehensive breast health and women’s wellness services including digital and 3D mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI, image-guided biopsy, bone density scanning, and full OB-GYN care. Accredited under the Mammography Quality Standards Act and FDA-certified for safety and quality, because the women this Foundation serves deserve nothing less.
Department of Radiation Oncology
The Harold & Carole Pump Department of Radiation Oncology at Northridge Hospital Medical Center
The Harold & Carole Pump Department of Radiation Oncology is the only treatment center in the San Fernando Valley offering a comprehensive range of advanced radiation therapies under one roof. From IMRT and Brachytherapy to Leipzig Brachytherapy for skin cancer treatment and the Trilogy Linear Accelerator for stereotactic radiation therapy, patients here have access to options that simply aren’t available anywhere else in the Valley.
Funded through the Foundation’s decades of giving, this department was built on the belief that where you live should never determine the quality of care you receive. For cancer patients in the San Fernando Valley, that belief shows up every day in the treatment room.
THOMAS AND DOROTHY LEAVEY CANCER CENTER
At Northridge Hospital Medical Center
Serving the San Fernando Valley since 1994, the Leavey Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer care under one roof, from chemotherapy and surgical oncology to radiation, interventional procedures, nutrition support, and massage therapy. Treatment plans are built around each patient using molecular diagnostics and the latest cancer therapies, with robot-assisted surgery available for greater precision and faster recovery.
The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation has been a driving force behind the Center’s growth for over two decades, funding expanded services and supporting the patient navigator program that connects every newly diagnosed patient with an RN navigator and patient advocate from first appointment through survivorship. Because a cancer diagnosis is hard enough without having to figure it out alone.
Celebrity Testimonials

Denzel Washington
“Most importantly, if you’re honoring us, you’re honoring all those people whose lives have been touched by this beast, and who every day fight that battle. And with the help of these two slightly overweight red-headed freckle-faced Jewish boys, they’ll win the battle.”

Earvin “Magic” Johnson
“It feels great to be here! The Pump Brothers are doing an outstanding job. Any time you are able to touch somebody’s life and help their lives be better- you’ve got to really respect the Pump Brothers for what they are doing in honor of their father and also helping people with the money they are raising for cancer tonight. It really is outstanding.”

Bob Knight

John Wooden
“When you help others, you create magic. Some people just talk about it, but David and Dana Pump, through the Harold Pump Foundation, do something about it. What is our life about, if not to help reduce the pain and suffering of others? This Foundation has raised over $1,300,000 in its 6 years of existence; I would say they have created a lot of magic in many cancer patients’ lives.”

Ozzie Smith
“David and Dana Pump… when they call, people come running and this is a start-studded event!”

Mike Krzyzewski
“Basically tonight is not just about raising money….I want what Jimmy (Valvano) wanted and what they (the Pumps) want. I want your mind and your soul. I want your heart. I want your effort, and I want to bring money too, but don’t just give money, be a part of this.”

Billy Packer
“One of the things I think most corporate executives try to do is to get associated with events that have some legs. This event is about having a good time, rubbing elbows with people from college and professional sports and supporting a very good cause.”
