Cancer treatment is physically and emotionally exhausting. Chemotherapy, radiation, and ongoing procedures take a toll on the body \u2014 and on the spirit. The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation recognizes that healing requires more than clinical care, which is why the Foundation funds the Leavey Cancer Center Massage Therapy Program.<\/p>

Available three days per week, the program offers patients 20-minute therapeutic massage sessions \u2014 neck and shoulder, hand, or foot \u2014 in a calm, supportive environment. These sessions are specifically designed to address the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment, including pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, and stress.<\/p>

In 2025, 688 massage therapy sessions were provided to cancer patients through this program. For many patients, these sessions represent something rare during treatment: a moment of peace, comfort, and care that has nothing to do with needles, scans, or side effects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
